I have Social Anxiety, but I'm not cured. I've gotten a LOT better by forcing myself into situations I'd normally avoid. I got a job in a fast food restaurant (I was so scared I cried a lot during the first couple weeks and almost quit LOL) and it really has helped.
You're best to see your family doctor though, or a psychiatrist. There are lots of medications approved to treat social anxiety. I think Nardil (an MAOI) and benzodiazepines (ie. Klonopin because of it's long half life) are the most effective options.
