Hi...


Diastole is when the heart dilates (relaxes). Diastolic pressure is the pressure in the arteries during diastole (this number is on the bottom of the blood pressure measurement).

Systole is when the heart contracts. Systolic pressure is the pressure in teh arteries during systole (this number is on the top of the blood pressure measurement).

When blood leaves the heart (from the left ventricle) to go to the body it enters the aorta....
