Default Is pain in your prostate a symptom for anything?

My husband occasionally complains of frequent, sharp pains in his prostate. Also, he has had leakage of urination about 10-15 times within the past week or so. There is no buring during urination, also no frequent urges to urinate. What could be causing this?My husband is 26.

Hi Brooke. Pain in the prostate is a very localized finding that only a doctor can make based on history and physical. In that anatomical region, there is many things that could be causing the pain: bladder (cystitis), ureter, urethra, prostate, colon/rectum, musculoskeletal. The symptoms of "leakage" suggests urinary incontinence which could be a sign of an enlarging prostate pressing on the bladder. Or it could be something more serious. Only with a proper history and exam can the etiology be discovered. Depending on your husband's age, there will be more risk factors involved. I advise you set up an appointment with a urologist for your husband today. Hope this helps.dr. j

Have him make an appointment with a urologist. It could be BPH, it could be an infection, it could be something else
