Default possible testicular cancer/visiting GP?

ok so i have recently been getting a dull pain in one of my testicles...but it switches testicle from time to time.

i have been aware for some time of a small lump on each of my testicles which are somewhat painful to the touch but have generally dismissed it. one of the lumps hurts a lot less to touch than the other. however, i believe there is a "lump" on each testicle which is completely normal but is often confused with an abnormal lump.

however since this pain has come into the equation, i feel like i should go and get it checked out by my GP.

the only thing is, i'm only 14 and it's not the most comfortable of reasons to give to a parent as to why you want a doctors appointment. can i just make an appointment for myself without telling my mum?

any help on this would be appreciated...information on what i may be suffering from - whether it is abnormal - to my question regarding visiting my GP.

I would get down to the doctors asap. Trust me, its worth the risk of you telling your mom. If it is cancer (which it might not be), telling your mom and getting it cured is a lot better than dying from it. I know it can be embarrassing, heck i had to tell my mom about a lump on my testicle (turned out to be nothing). If you really feel scared about telling your mom, phone up a consultant or check the NHS website.

the lumps you are referring to at the top of the testicle is where the seminal vessels are an those are normal, what you will feel with testicular cancer is a enlarge and firm mass or the testicle itself will feel hard, unlike the other one, and usually you will get enlarged lymph glands in your groin, testicular cancer is usually easy to detect and treatment is highly successful unless you wait months or years...thanks to the LANCE ARMSTRONG FOUNDATION there has been a lot to improve the outcome of testicular cancer and other cancers...
