Iit will be one of two things ,either testicular cancer or more commonly a cyst,,the doctor will send you for an ultrasound after he/she has done an examination, the test takes just a few minutes and the results just a few days,,
cysts tend to be on top of the inner part of the testiscle between the skin and the hard bit,,cancer tends to be more a part of the testi,,if you can almost put your fingers tips around the lump it will more than likely be a cyst and very slightly movable,,if it is cancer then the lump will be painful and very much a part of the testis,,if in any doubt you should go to your doctor,,,,

If you've got a lump, get it looked at.

Or do you want to gamble that it might be benign?

Contrary to opinion on here, testicular cancer is often painless, although you may have an ache in the testicle or abdomen. MOst lumps, around 5% or below seen in hospital are cancerous. Add onto this that around only 1 in 20 lumps seen by a GP are referred, the comnined odds are around 400 to one of it being cancer. Testicular cancer, usually teratoma or seminoma are both very curative (around 95%) even if caught in stages 3 and 4, and respond very well to chemotherapy if needed, although most are cured with removal of the affected testicle, known as an orchidectomy.

If you have a lump, large or smal in or around your testicle, see your GP, who will be able to investigate this further. Well done for the self examination which has found a possible lump or bump.

I remember having a lump on my boob, but the doc was alright with it because it moved.. worried more if it was staying still, regardless of pain present..

Please don't ask people on here, go and see your doctor and put your mind at rest. Your doctor has seen it all before, even if it's a woman doctor. I have had cancer twice, once in each breast and know that if I hadn't had it detected early, I wouldn't be typing this answer to you now. Please, please, go.

As a rule of thumb, if a lump is cancer it tends not to move, however like with everything there are exceptions to this rule.

Any lump needs investigating by the medical profession.
