Yes of course. They're the drug class called Benzodiazepenes or "Benzos" for short, and include pills like Klonopin (Clonazapam), Ativan (Lorazapam), Valium (Diazapam), & Xanax (can't remember its generic name) to name a few. Xanax has the shortest half life, meaning it hits you fast but leaves your system fast, therefore being the most addictive. Klonopin has the longest half life, taking the longest to affect you and staying in your system (at least for me) maybe 12 hours.
Benzos are wonderful anti anxiety drugs, but you will often encounter paranoid anal doctors who refuse to prescribe them because if abused, they CAN be addictive, but if you just take them when you are feeling anxious, they work way better than Paxil or anything else. It's like a dose of instant calm. If you take any Benzos all the time you will be immune to them and they won't affect you any more. Also, the first time or 2 you take them will be the most intense. Like you'll probably start with only a half mg of Klonopin to get mellow, but after a couple of weeks, it may take 1 or 2 or more mg to achieve that effect. They're not dangerous unless you mix them with tons of hard alcohol.
If your doctor refuses to prescribe a Benzo to you, find a new doctor. I found about half of doctors flat out refuse.
Also, NEVER EVER EVER take Welbutrin if you suffer from anxiety!!!!! OMG!! Whatever doctor gave that to you should have their license taken away!!! It CAUSES anxiety!!! It also can cause you to have tremors nonstop and be very irritable, as well as insomnia. It's like bad speed. The only people it's good for are the ones with depression who can't get motivated to ever get out of bed and have never had anxiety. That's why it doesn't hurt your libido, it revs up your nerves all around!!!
Another decent anti anxiety med is Neurontin (Gabazapine?) but you're supposed to take it all the time. For me, it worked great for about 1 or 2 weeks and then I got immune to it.
Do not ever let anyone give you Buspar for anxiety!!! It made me sick to my stomach and dizzy, and almost gave my best friend a heart attack.
