Health issues causing anxiety?
I have had health problems, and ever since feel anxiety over it and over helping myself to 'prevent' whatever caused my initial problems.
I had a stroke and open heart surgery (to close a congenital hole) at 24 when I felt totally healthy. Recently I went to the doctor and they told me I have some antibodies in my blood that can increase my risk of blood clots, stroke, and heart attack. He said there is nothing I can do to control the level of antibodies. Doctors just give me some suggestions - stay active, don't smoke, aspirin, etc.
Well, I'm anxious as all hell about this. Last night I went to a movie that was really long, and I started getting really anxious because I had been sitting too long. I got up to move around and missed an important chunk. I'm afaid to fly becuase of the increased risk of blood clots. I get nervous if someone near me is smoking. ETC. My husband thinks I'm a hypochondriac. I'm starting to wonder the same. How do I chill out about this?
No one else has anxiety over their health? :-/
