Default will a doctor prescribe only 1 or 2 doses of anti-anxiety meds?

I have a very stressful situation coming up--i have to sit in on a deposition of someone who has really hurt my family. i don't want to get all nervous and emotional and be a basketcase. i was wondering if I show a doctor the notice of the hearing and the date, would he or she prescribe just a few valium or something similar for my nerves? just thinking about about it makes me feel like panicking.
