Default Heart condition?

Hey I'm confused at the moment as of what is wrong with me. I've just had a echocardiogram and my heart seems fine. I gave't yet had a test to check if anything is blocked in my heart and I'm awaiting the results of an ECG. It started about 2 months ago and I've had chest pains(my chest feels tight sometimes) and I've had a pain in a certain spot in what I can only describe is in my heart. I also feel my energy levels have decreased and sometimes feel down in the dumps which is definitely not me at all, usually bubley and always have someting to say....Any feedback would be much appreciated. I'm only 21,m. No family history of heart disease...and could it be linked to my lungs?

In the chest area there are many things that could be possibilities. You have started at a good point with the echo. Something you might want to ask the cardiologist also is the size of the aortic root, if it wasn't discussed. There are several connective tissue dissorders which can affect both the heart, circulatory system and the lungs. I would think a CTA might be worth having to see any blockages in coronary arteries or any dissections. Doctors aren't always real familiar with connective tissue dissorders as there are so many, so may need to mention that also.

About the only way to be certain of arterial blockages is with an angiogram, to see dye patterns via x-ray.

Lower energy levels happen when there is anything wrong with someone. The immune system cranks up, and other things partially shut down. If you rest, you should get over it.

Meanwhile, improve your diet.

At 21, very unusual. Do continue to work with your doctor.

First you have to remember that is not always hereditary. You life style and diet can affect your hearts health from early age. And sorry, but lugs don't give pain only in one spot. You have angina pain, which comes to you when your heart mussels are deprive of blood. This is caused because of stenosis of the arteries on your heart. When your heart mussels are not getting the needed blood and oxygen, then they gets weak and your whole body gets deprived of blood and oxygen. That's why you feel down and tired. The best way for diagnosis is the Thallium Stress Test. It is rather expensive, but your physician may be able to prescribe it if he/she is broadminded and your symptoms continue or worsen. First research the subject as much as you can. And act quick. The sooner you get the necessary care, the better. Also to be safe, learn of the symptoms of heart attack. At the same time don't exert your self. Avoid strenuous exercise or activities till you have the results of the stress test and a doctor's advice.
