ask him straight up if he knows Jesus. if yes, then simply offer to pray with him and his family through the final vigils. if the answer is no, share your willingness to help him know Christ and alert your church for support, if he indicates a desire to come to Christ and to be baptized.

one of our members baptized her mother after she had a stroke and was on her deathbed at age 90! she prayed with and for her mom during vigil. in their talks, her mom expressed regret that she did not live a more Godly life. several members of our church worked tirelessly to make arrangements for her to study the bible and finally to be baptized, iv drips and all! it's a great testimony because God did not call her mom to Him and she is a vibrant member of our church family today!
