WEll im 16 years old and my girlfriend is 13(who cares about age)
anyways she has a hole in her heart which i asume is ASD. Well im very scared about something bad happening to her. And i want to know if her feeling heart pain sometimes is normal for ASD?
please help me im so worried and i lover her so much.

If your talking about a hole in the heart, VSD is more common than ASD. So without any further information i will assume VSD rather than ASD An echocardiogram will immediately tell you which is which. It is also important to know what kind of treatment she has received as it may affect the course of the condition a lot.

Okay ASD and VSD are both congenital problems. In simple terms something went wrong during the fetal development leaving a hole in the heart.

"Heart pain" is not the usual symptom though. Better go and see a doctor.

Holes can occur in many parts of the heart, ASD occurs in the upper chambers between the right and left sides of the heart. This can cause blood to leak from the high pressure left side to the low pressure right side. This leak when severe tends to steal needed blood from nourishing the body and flood blood into the lung area possibly leading to excess fatigue and shortness of breath. Though a variety of tests your cardiologist can determine the size of the leak. Large leaks need to be repaired surgically, small ones can be pretty much ignored. Chest pain generally does not result from ASD.
