Our 4 yr. old Golden retriever is losing his hair, probably because of his skin allergy. He is on Prednisone, but it doesn't seem to be working 100 percent. The poor thing is almost bald on his belly and it just isn't getting better. Can someone shead light on an easy cure for the poor guy? He has gone to the vet many times for shots to, but I was wondering if there was anything else to do.
He was on Eukanuba, but we are now switching him to Purina One Lamb and Rice. I don't think it's helping much yet.
Could we be doing something that upsets his skin? Should we not let him go swimming for awhile and see if that helps? Are we giving him to many baths, and not getting the soap out (even though we seem to rinse him for hours). I am desparate for answers!
I think he has been on Pred for a year or 2 now, but every year in april him and I go to the doctor with allergy problems! And where can you find these other dog foods for a good price?
