ideas on getting it off the floor? I constantly vacuum, the hair sticks in the carpet. I also have hard wood floors when I sweep it flies all over the place. I try to mop the floors after I sweep and the hair I didn't see when I swept, sticks to the floor. It's the time of the year they shed for their winter coats. I wish I could just shave her but she may not get it back. Thanks for any help you can give.. Ps. I brush her every day.
Thanks for your answers, I actually have an upright vacuum with a carpet attachment. I also wanted to ask if anyone knows a good dog food that helps to stop her from shedding? I have tries several expensive brands in the past with little results.

I saw a product in Bed Bath and Beyond (and I guess it is an infomercial) that seems logical enough. It is a big adhesive that you stick to something and it pulls off the hair. It is called StickySheet. I don't know if it is the right one for you, but thought I would chime in.

Firstly, the vacuum needs to have a carpet attachment. It is like a brush that rolls around the inside and believe me, if it's working properly it will get that hair up.

Second, you shouldn't sweep the hard wood floors, you should vacuum it on the floor setting.

Third, you may be brushing your dog all the time, but if you're not actually PULLING a tremendous amount of fur from her then it will all just eventually end up in your house. A new brush could solve this problem. Get the Furminator (http://www.furminator.com/). It is pricey but it is the best brush ever invented. You will not regret it, it will pull all that fur off of your dog which you can then put in the garbage or a bag. You'll be amazed.

A good vacuum with a good beater bar, to be honest. I went out and bought a canister (better than upright) with the biggest motor I could get and it works great. I never sweep, you're right it just flies everywhere. plus I have hardwood floors so sweeping isn't a good idea for them.

ADDED:
It's the upright, trust me. A canister really does work better in case you've never had one. Plus the size motor on it is a big factor. With all the animals I have I know how you feel, but hair stuck in the carpet isn't a problem here anymore. For a better food, that's smart thinking on your part.
