Re: Will Propecia work for me?
I can only share my own expierience and that of my brother who's 8 years older than I. Propecia and Rogaine did nothing for my brother, but the combination of propecia and rogaine was extremely effective in regrowing hair my crown area and else where.
My dermatologist and I agreed it also seemed to make my hair more coarse and thicker per square inch. To my knowledge neither makes a strong claim about regrowing hair anywhere other than the crown area, but I know for a fact that the combination of both have restored hair in the temple area. The hair in the temple area wasn't totally lost but it was extremely thin, it is now visibly thicker and doesn't appear thin at all.
My hair has improved 100%, so much so that people have actually asked if I had a hair transplant. From what I understand it acts differently with different people. The combination of the two were not as effective in my brothers situation, and professional claims state that results will vary with individuals.
Also so you don't waste your money, I stopped taking it for one year, and everyone started asking if I was loosing my hair due to stress, within a short period time the hair returned to it's thin lack luster look. Upon starting up the regimen of propecia and rogaine, within two month there was a noticible improvement within 4 month people were asking if I had hair plugs.
Good luck, the only side effect is, I don't seem to have a strong sex drive, but at 48, I'd rather have hair on my head than a strong sex drive.
