I am a female caucasion. My hair has always been fine (soft and fine), but here lately it is so soft it won't hold a style. I barely use any conditioner or it will just not hold ANY semblance of a style. I recently had a summer cut and he got carried away and cut a lot of short layers, which probably shouldn't have been done to baby fine hair. Is it because it's in such short layers that it appears thinner and softer, or could I be thinning? I've even gotten my hormones and thyroid tested, and they were normal, and I went to a dermatologist about another problem so I asked him about my thinning hair while there and he said it just needed to grow. I'm scared.
