Actually, it is hereditary. If your parents, or even grandparents have or had hair loss, the gene could have been passed on to you.
First off, I would talk to your family and see if anyone has a similar problem. If not, go see a doctor ASAP. And make sure the doctor is a dermo or even someone who specializes in hair loss (if there even is such a doctor). Even if it is hereditary, you might want to consult a doctor on some medicine to help you keep and grow back your hair.
But I can feel for you. When I was 8 years old I had the same problem. The doctor said it was a disease of the scalp and was easily curable. For almost a year I had to put cream on my bald spots, my head could not be directly in sunlight (that was part of the problem) and I couldn't eat certain foods. It worked really well, and most of my hair grew back. There is only a small bald spot left.
In short, it is very natural to have hair loss at any age. I hope you find a solution to your problem, but remember, bald is beautiful.
