Default My dog is going bald but is not itching no sign of mite either?

She is a 14 months old Dobermann who has recently started to go bald on her back, I have had her to the vet who didn't really know what it was, he put some drops on her neck and said come back in 4 weeks. I am really worried at how much hair she is losing each day, there are a few dried out sores now which are flaking away. She is not scratching or biting so its not bothering her she just looks a mess

Anyone got any ideas for promoting her hair to grow back? (wishful thinking!!)
